Pathways to Foundation – Our Transition Program

At Coolaroo South Primary School, our Pathways to Foundation program provides a warm, supportive, and structured transition for children enrolled in our Kindergarten program, continuing through to the Foundation transition sessions in Term 4. Designed to build confidence, connection, and readiness for school, the program introduces children to key learning spaces, staff, and routines across the year.

In Term 1, children explore the school environment, including the yard, library, and playground, helping them feel familiar and comfortable in their new surroundings.

In Term 2, children participate in specialist sessions in Art, Music, Science, and Physical Education, giving them a taste of the rich learning experiences that await them.

During Term 3, our wellbeing and allied health team visit the Kindergarten rooms fortnightly to deliver play‑based and language‑rich activities.  The children also begin visiting our Foundation classrooms for literacy, numeracy, and developmental play sessions.

In Term 4, Foundation teachers visit the Kindergarten rooms to build relationships and support a smooth transition, followed by four Foundation transition sessions for all enrolled students.

Together, these experiences create a purposeful and connected pathway into school, ensuring every child feels confident, supported, and excited to begin their learning journey at Coolaroo South Primary School.

 

Enrolment

To enrol your child at Coolaroo South Primary School, you need to be living within our school zone (if not, phone us to speak to the Principal on 9309 1664). This can be found on the Find my School website.

The enrolment form can be downloaded HERE, or collected from the front office of the school.

Once completed, please return to the front office.
