Mathematics

At Coolaroo South Primary School, we provide a sequential and engaging Mathematics program that develops students’ skills, knowledge and understanding across all areas of the Victorian Curriculum. Guided by the principles of the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0, our teaching practices are evidence informed and designed to support high quality learning for every student.

We aim to build confident and capable mathematicians through rich learning experiences that promote collaboration, critical thinking and purposeful problem solving. A strong focus is placed on developing numeracy skills in the early years through hands on, activity based learning.

Students also participate in daily review and fluency practise to strengthen mathematical understanding, build automatic recall of key skills and support long term retention of learning.
